Using them for tree work. I've always loved Carolinas for treework, but switched to Thoroughgoods a few years ago because of the American made. Couldn't find Thoroughgoods for the right price this time so went back to Carolinas. I'd forgotten how nice they are. Steel shank works great with a set of spurs, and I prefer the composite toe to steel for temperature regulation purposes. Couldn't be happier. Only regret is that I didn't buy 2 pairs.

VERY WELL made,heavy duty work boot...Iam a Professional Heavy Equipment Diesel mechanic,and wear boots out in no time at all...I usuallu wear CAT work boots,but have quit using them and have switched to these instead...These have SUPERIOR stitching and are very well put together,these are so nice Iam ordering another pair next payday, and Shoeline has great prices,fast shippping and friendly sales people also....Job well done ShoeLine........2 thumbs up......

We love the color of these boots; finally, a decent black pair! And the yellow highlight of the string surely catches the eye. They're also warm as the boots are lined for waterproofing and they're padded a little inside.Slight draw back is some may find that the padding can be a little snug on the toes at first, like my daughter. But she says they're not uncomfortable and they're breaking in pretty quickly.

I love these black boots, especially the way they look with the yellow-string and white-thread highlights! To me, they seem to look BETTER in person than they do in the picture! But that could just be that the human eye is better than any camera. (Lol)My only issue is that it's a little snug around the toes when you first put them on, but they seem to be stretching nicely.

i would say it fits well, i just need to wear thin socks because the widest available is 2e. I bought two pairs. 11 2e and 10.5 2e. Both fit well, but i can wear thicker socks in the bigger size i figure, for cold weather.

I only have a week on this pair but so far so good, if they hold up like my last pair I'll be happy. I'll try to make sure and review these again in 9 months or soThis is my second pair of carolina boots, first pair lasted about one year, which is very good for my work environment. Some of the stitching came apart, I could have got them stiched up and got another 6-9 months comfortably. I've tried Danner, Georgia boots, wolverine, Chippewa, ariat, etc. Even the $300+ danner boots I only got about a year out of before the stitching started to fail. These boots are comfortable out of the box, fit true to size and width, I have wide feet and the 2e fit perfect. Overall I think for the price carolina makes an exceptional boot. I put my boots through hell and back. I'm an equipment operator in the PNW, so every day September through June these boots are caked in mud, hosed off and brought inside to dry out. If you are looking for a great boot at a great price for powerline work or logging, this is a good option. The scuba liner is crazy good too. The only problem I have with them is that you will need to find a good insole to add to them to give them more cushion.

I not only have a narrow foot, but I also have a high instep. It can be a challenge finding shoes/boots that actually fit my feet. I ordered these a half size larger and in a medium width so that I could wear thick boot/winter socks. Sometimes this works, sometimes it does not. It worked very well with these and I am very happy with the product. I order them on a Friday night knowing Shoeline would not see my order until Monday morning. UPS delivered them at my door Wednesday morning. So far, I'm happy with the product and happy with my ordering experience with Shoeline.

I like these boots a lot. I exchanged the boots for a half-size larger, for best fit. But, after that, the boots felt very good around my feet. The soles felt thick and supportive, and the upper leather and liner were thick and stiff, all contributing to a strong impression of protectiveness. The toe room under the composite toe cap was good; I made no contact when wiggling my toes. Shoeline.com service was very good: original delivery was quick; and return for size exchange needed only re-packaging, submitting to the carrier, and then awaiting the replacement. This was a good buying experience.
